The 750/760 is equipped with three standard serial communication ports, one RS232 located on the front panel and two RS485/RS422 located on the rear of the relay. A rear Ethernet port is also available as an optional feature. The front panel port allows easy access to the local computer. The rear port provides remote communication or connection to the DCS, SCADA or PLC. The baud rate for all serial ports varies between 300 and 19,200 bps. An optional Ethernet port is available for connecting 750/760 to 10 Mbps Ethernet networks. 750/760 supports ModBUS® RTU, DNP3.0 Level2 and ModBUS RTU TCP/P protocols, three serial ports support ModBus RTU protocols, Either (but not both) of the two rear ports can be configured to support DNP 3.0 Level2. The optional Ethernet port supports ModBus RTU over TCP/P, and the 750/760 communication system is designed to allow simultaneous communication over all ports. Integrate 750/760 locally using Ethernet as the physical medium.
The new control strategy and network structure based on fieldbus technology will have a revolutionary impact on existing instrumentation and control systems. Based on the essential characteristics of fieldbus technology, this paper analyzes the influence of fieldbus technology on the traditional distributed control system DCS, and puts forward three methods of integrating fieldbus into DCS based on the characteristics of DC network structure.
