Thanks to the splitboard, the system’s digital input and output operations are enhanced, enabling smooth connectivity between the sbRIO platform and external devices. With its rugged construction and 96 digital I/O channels, the sbRIO-9694 offers more versatility for control and monitoring applications.
The split-board can be adapted to different wire layouts and integration requirements, with 64 channels accessible through screw terminals and another 32 channels accessible through holes spaced 100 mm apart. Each channel is rigorously tested to ensure reliable performance, with a maximum test current of ±3 mA per channel and a total current capacity of 288 mA across all lines.
Accurate signal detection is ensured by precisely defining the input logic levels (from 2.0V to 3.465V for VIH and from 0V to 0.8V for VIL). The output logic level is equally clear, with a VOH source current ranging from 3 mA, from 2.4 V to 3.465 V, and a VOL feed current of 3 mA, from 0.0 V to 0.4 V. These specifications provide reliable and consistent performance in a variety of applications.
In addition to reliable power distribution, the sbRIO-9694 has an FPGA VIO (3.3V) output that holds 0.33A of current and a 5V output that delivers up to 1.5A of current. To ensure safety and prevent damage due to overcurrent conditions, both the 5 V and FPGA VIO outputs are protected with a fuse. Weighing just 82 grams (2.89 ounces), the sbRIO-9694 is lightweight and easy to install and use. It is suitable for many industrial environments as it is designed for indoor use and can operate in a temperature range of -40 to 85 °C.
